This is such an annoying fixation on adding edge to the show where there needn't be any. The author is clearly one of these people that has ignored all the cues in the show about the mirror Pinkies in order to headcanon an edgier version of the episode.

The whole premise of Mirror recognizing that she's a clone in this fic isn't compatible with the episode. One of the many ways in which Pinkie's characterization in the episode is bad is that she was easily able to distinguish herself from the clones as soon as they were made because the clones had poor memory, and they acted quite distinct from Pinkie herself. Rose also calls this out in the beginning of the fic, easily recognizing that Mirror did not act like a clone. Then, later in the episode, Pinkie loses the ability to distinguish herself from the clones because of her debilitating Ponkhood. Mirror in the fic realizes she's a clone because of her high memory fidelity, something the clones didn't have.
