Facebook was amazing when it first started, and you had to have a college .edu email address to sign up. It was ONLY your fellow college students, so people felt free to publicly post the craziest shit on there.
Then when they started letting just anyone in the general public sign up, it went to shit because everyone's parents and grandparents and aunts and siblings and managers and potential future employers were on there and everyone realized they shouldn't publicly post anything spicy and went into private groups.
