Oh cool a deadlock. I'll go with this one:

This is a delicate operation so you speak up yourself. You stand centre stage with Tiffy and after introducing yourself as "Joanna" (she/her) you directly state that the price of swaps have probably gone up, no swaps have occurred because no one has agreed to pay the new fee. This makes the crowd upset.
"That's not fair!"
"I have no money because of capitalism!"
"How do you know? Are you a Swap!?"
"Are you working for the Gender Vendor???"
Annoyingly your female identity has gained suspicion. Perhaps this was the right call. These people may not be seeing your female self again, while risking further suspicion on Jesse or relying on Alex could have been bad.
Tiffy: "Calm down everyone. If what Joanna is suggesting is right that would explain why there's been no more swaps. Maybe we just need to pay a little bit more money from now on?"
The price is 5k not "a little bit more." You push further and elaborate that since the business is so secretive they "probably" have to charge more money, and the early $100 fee was "probably" only a temporary phase to start the customer base. The crowd is now eyeing you suspiciously, some may think you're an insider now. But the crowd is accepting your explanations. After having your say you take Jesse's hand and leave early, not wanting any more attention.
