This is going to sound incredibly harsh but the only TRIGGER series I find any good are Kill La Kill and this one (which doesn't entirely count as the original show was made by Gainax and only 3 of the the staff members from that season are working on this if you exclude the VAs), Gainax had plenty of good shows during their best years but TRIGGER just never managed to reach the same heights and now mostly relies in "member that old thing?", so far the first episode of this season is the only good or at least best thing they have done in many years, you can feel the director is very passionate about it and despite having a more cartoony artstyle they somehow keep all characters ON MODEL and don't do any of the cheap off model lazy shit they did in Dungeon Meshi where every character looked like a entirely different person from frame to frame and they don't abuse smear frames here either
