I lost 100lb of fat over the last 2 yrs by literally just walking and quitting booze.

Started with 5 miles 3 days a week and ramped it up to 12 miles 4 days a week and one 60 mile 2 day hike a month.

Walking 5 miles for a 275+lb person burns like 900 calories. Gets you in shape.

Don't knock walking. 2 hours of walking (5 miles for a fatty) is fucking great and easy way to start for a deconditioned person.

I walk less now since I've been really into gym for the last 6 months and am doing lean bulk but I think starting with long walks was 100% the right move.

I don't think fatties have the physical capability to run long enough distances to effectively lose weight. They need to walk.
