You clearly never had an intimate teenage relationship if you think this. The way they wrote the mid part of the film was incredibly realistic. The joy and feeling of discovery was better than any I've seen on film. That doesn't even take into account stuff like the cinematography and overarching themes (regret, indecision, promise) it is an incredible film
