Just finished Stellar Blade in sub 40 hours.

Can someone explain to me why exactly we had to gather Alpha Naytiba cores just to unlock a door to talk to Adam. Literally spent the entire game with the dude, and he clearly could just unlock the door to the Naytiba nest himself.
