before I go planting these seeds in my garden I want to rant a bit,
I hate how a lot of the verafags on twitter or youtube and wherever else do the "dommy mommy" bullshit with her character. It makes zero fucking sense, because the reason Vera even likes you to begin with is that you don't cower like a bitch to her like everyone else does, and you're also willing to get your hands dirty and cut corners on protocol.
these people would know this if they actually read the affection stories or paid any attention to her interactions with you. Sure, she'll tease the hell out of you in a sultry, threatening manner, but if you just went "ooh yes mommy abuse me" or whatever the fuck these guys do she'd be disgusted and not in a fun way either.
The only element of her character that could betray this is how she disagrees with your overall optimism and self-sacrificial attitude. She hates being seen as an object to be used or controlled and wants you to hate it as well, but she can't argue against the fact that you're willing to die so often to push humanity forward, which irritates the hell out of her because she genuinely doesn't want you to die based on orders from assholes sitting behind a desk and looking at charts thousands of miles away.
She has a truly deep respect for you and wants you to stick around, and these layers is why I love her so much. I'm a bigger Karenfag than anything else but even I know this.
