Just to add to this, I do think western media could learn a thing or two from anime and the less restrictive treatment of female characters is certainly one of those things. But they also shouldn't just be 2 dimensional sex objects, because frankly that's just boring, and porn is available everywhere. Ideally, they're sexy but also well written. To want them to be exclusively sex objects is, ironically enough, simp behavior.
