Gentlemen, there is something I'd like to discuss. You all know eachother. You are all more or less concerned with the same things.
One of those things, which is not being spoken of out loud, is that there is an existential threat to the continuation of this general. All websites struggle to employ effective bans on users, that is the internet. We deal with this issue foremost. Its consequences on the thread are wide-reaching.
In October 2022, shortly before the release of Stable Diffusion 1.5, I made this thread the day after NAI leaked. AI threads rarely spent a moment on the front page back then, all being non-SD focused threads. Over the next 3-4 weeks, the thread slid a few times but it mostly stayed up. In those beginnings, 2 namefags took on the main obligation of keeping the thread up in addition to myself. This was before civit, when everyone used A1111 and very few plugins or resources existed. The software was unstable, and many of us contributed to forking SD and helping make the software what is is today.
The body has changed many times, even the name, but it has been an uninterrupted general since that day.
This place has the implicit condition that you will post content of a relatively narrow set of themes and objective quality (are people using detailing plugins or setting up nodes correctly, do their vaes work, etc.) Those 2 things manifest in posting behavior more than anything else with few exceptions.
Imagine if this place had an implicit condition that higher objective quality and more nuanced subjective value were universally assumed to have more value and worth than those which are objectively low quality; e.g., slop posts.
I'm not describing a "rule" but a pretext to the thread. If you think this is somehow a bad idea, remember that the theme is exactly the same thing. It's a suggestion.
I propose this in order to: 1) Increase the longevity of these threads given an uncertain future
2) Perhaps better its users with higher standards
