nuts to butts this kind of inclusion is what the sonic lore team is for. even if sonic team liked a spinoff character, they wouldn't know anything about them without accompanying documents at the VERY least. They're also probably responsible for tracking down sources on writing decisions attributed to characters and keeping licenses straight so that another penders lawsuit can't happen again. (Sega wants their sonic ship to sail smoothly, sonic fans want more than the basics, a specialized management team would be the solution to that)
