One of these conversations involved talking about the uses of that crystal.
"But that doesn't make any sense!" Yumi objected to your brilliant ideas.
"I think turning it into a weapon makes perfect sense." You gave her your classic shit-eating grin. "Just think about how powerful a stick could be if it had the ghost crystal attached to it."
"As a wand?" Yumi said. "That... might actually work? And I I were in it, it could be like taking over a machine. Maybe you could even use some ghostly spells..." She seemed to seriously consider it.
You honestly were thinking about using it like a spear, but that was Yumi presented a nice alternative. Whatever spear you were considering might not be comparable to Gerty's Holy Spear, or any of the Holy Spears the Centrian Knights gave you for that matter, but it might have its own unique 'ghostly' qualities (which would be stronger if you could convince Yumi to possess it, that is).
Then again it was still useful to capture ghosts, even if Yumi wasn't going to use it as often anymore.
Back in the estate you still had some inactive purified crystals from the fight against Oghlurk. They were once used to hold mana, which was warped into corrupted magic and then used as a sort of battery and missile by said orc boss. However these particular crystals were, now that they were inactive, currently useless. You considered getting Herta to infuse some divine energy into them, just to give them some sort of power, but you feared that it might take a bit too much out of her, considering how she tended to get tired easier since you knocked her up.
There were also the eight crystal necklaces you purchased from Nicodemus. These were used to keep people healthy while also providing protection against magical corruption for your wives and their pregnancies. While not really having any offensive use, they provide a decent defense against said corruption.
The crystal is your property, so even if Yumi objected you could use it like you wished.
And that wasn't to mention the materials you could use to build this. While Holysteel likely wouldn't mesh well with ghostly powers, Hihiirokane (better known as Scarlette-steel) was ideal in conducting and strengthening spiritual energy. Mithril was also a good metal to use.
But you were getting ahead of yourself. Right now you were just thinking about sticks and crystals, despite Yumi's half-helpful ideas.
>No, keep the ghost-capturing crystal as it was. You didn't want to accidentally damage it in the future by turning it into a weapon.
>Turn it into a wand. Yumi seemed to think it was an alright idea, and you might get access to some ghost magic.
>If you got a big enough stick you could create a makeshift spear.
>(Write-in)
"But alas!" Yumi made a dramatic pose. "I cannot promise my full power! For, to possess a machine is a tenuous thing, much less an item!"
"How about possessing an item made of bone?" You teased. "Would that count as taking over an undead?"
