There are some different in-game armor meshes that you can use. You can make dresses and limited styles of "skits". Most of what people make is "skin tight clothing". The person(s) behind mod is slowly adding ways to add custom meshes to game. Here's an example of some of the custom gear and weapons I made. You have to share the mod if you want others to see your custom content in-game.

Probably your best bet is to Farm Catacombs 2 and gain a few more levels and get slightly better gear from bosses.
