I think she really cares and also probably knows this might be her last big thing. The diamond lore she and Ian have redacted on this timeline seems like it could be juicy - it’s at the core of everything, and can probably easily be expanded.

Despite online heckling from poltically charged nerds, I’ve seen a lot of reports of demand for SU on streaming services. They might have a pretty decent budget.

I just hope they include old characters that people already love and could use more development. This is your last chance to fix Peridot and Lapis and use Jasper’s potential, Sugar. Lots of characters who could be useful on the road and who might have personal reasons to want to know their species’ origin.

And I hope it’s in a similar vein to SUF - more “adult” than SU, but still fun - but with a heavier emphasis on gems, magic, wonder and exploration, as a final answer to the most common complaints with the show before
