Your journey is rather lengthy, and several unremarkable encounters pass in a blink. You end up having a chance encounter with a Chuumon, a pink rat Digimon that’s digging into a pile of scrap data packets. He’s nice enough to point you Raremon’s way once you ask. Phascomon refuses to get close to fight the smelly bastard, so you move on without incident.

Then you run into a bot patrol. You have the bad luck of rounding the corner right into their rear guard, forcing you to quickly retreat and double-check all your VPN tools. Phascomon clears them out after a while, allowing you to progress.

Finally, you reach a massive gap, where junk flows through the canal and blocks your path. You check your map, and for a moment, you’re puzzled. You’ve been here before, the chasm wasn’t so wide. Phascomon then points out that the level of junk data has risen so high that the walkway has been covered, and you’re standing on the inner lip of the passageway instead. You’re forced to make a detour through one of those round wall chutes, where a deluge of data rushes past. You wade ankle-deep in it while chasing the signature from Raremon.

Finally, you make it to a drier series of hallways. You can see several locked partition openings here. You also smell the horrid miasma it was giving off. Last time, it was enough to paralyze both Rookie Digimon. Today, Phascomon stands strong and takes the first step forward.

”I hear it. That guy is close.”

“You ready?”

He nods.
