Continuing along, you get closer to the castle, finding its entrances decently guarded. Might be hard to get through conventionally… though that’s when inspiration hits you as you remember the cute little mole. “Gonna get us inside. Teleport in after me.” you state as you form a Ki drill.

“Careful, Peppa. Don’t know if you might end up somewhere you shouldn’t be.” Melee warns. “Even if there are no lifeforms around, there may still be security measures in place.”

“Plus the roots of the Tree of Might, don’t want to accidentally strike one and end up contributing any energy to it.” Keli adds.

“I got this, don’t worry. You don’t have to try to play mom.” you declare confidently and grin cheekily. And so, you dig, drilling into the dirt and finding a way into the castle. You end up realizing it’s actually much deeper a structure than it seems, but finally you find a way in. And with the coast clear, you signal for Keli to teleport in with everyone else. Looking around, you see that the area you’re all in is some kind of storage area, and start to make your way elsewhere.

You get by a few guards without detection, and end up finding what Glorio spots as a record room. Finally, some answers. Keeping watch for anyone coming or going, you get in there, though the records the place has prove to be sparse. Lots of short, quick reports, catalogs of “specimens” and certain test results, as Melee and Glorio read off. There is one thing that catches the latter’s attention, apparently failed results relating to securing usable enough “Glind Tree” specimens for an eventual test with some of the Tree of Might’s byproducts. There’s that word again…

“So one of the things they’re trying to do is… revive a different kind of tree with the tree of might?” you ask, mildly confused.

“Yes… but this doesn’t make any sense though.” Melee speaks up, scratching her head. “Why would Dabura and Towa want the Kaiju trees back?”

You blink, looking at her. “The what trees?”

“They are trees that the Kais, or Glinds as they’re known down here, are born from, grown out of them like fruits. The last of them dried up centuries ago.” she explains. “So it doesn’t make any sense that they’d try to revive them, the likes of Towa and Dabura would be happy to see them gone… unless…” She snaps her fingers. “The Makaioshin!”

“What about him?” Glorio asks, taking one of the scrolls and shoving it into his jacket.

“He’s one of the Kais as well, it could be some attempt at either leveraging against him or keeping options open lest they need a ‘replacement’ of sorts. They… might even be able to do the same with the other Kais should they step out of line…”
