having just gone through all of these, i'd cut 4. 4 has one of the best starts ever, and the second you hit the castle it goes from S tier to A tier. The second you leave the castle, it drops down to C tier. 1 remake is very replayable, but 2 and 3's replayability is top notch. learning to dodge nemesis, and even the normal zombies feels so fucking good. 2's zapping system makes repeat playthroughs extra fun as well, and 2 in general is just a perfect short game, if you just want to play A scenario once. 4's drop in quality gives me whiplash. the funny part is the remake is worse in every way, but also falls apart at the exact same parts. so the remake is a perfect remake, in the sense that it's a 1:1 recreation for "the modern audience". the great parts are now good, the good parts are now bad, and the shit parts are now diarrhea.
