My problem with Ajisai is Renako doesn't treat her like a person. She is always nervous around her and puts her on a pedestal. It really feels more like admiration rather than love which is why I think her relationship with Mai feels much more natural. Read the cafeteria scene again Renako simply can't picture Mai and her breaking up but it's not the same with Ajisai.
