“...squad C is checking on if the Bludbeast has adjusted to the habitat here, we’ll hear the report in an hour.” one says to the demon soldier leading them all.
“Gnumesis.” the one next to the first, voice sounding more feminine, corrects in a tone that sounds very pedantic. “The proper term is Gnumesis.”
“This argument again…” grunts a larger demon behind them.
“For the last time, I don’t care what the Glinds called it, Pistil.” the first demon responds in annoyance. “I call it a Bludbeast, he calls it a Bludbeast, HE calls it a Bludbeast, most of the damn Gendarmerie calls it a Bludbeast. It’s a Bludbeast.”
“Bludbeast is the incorrect term, and if you put it on your reports, you’ll get reprimanded.” the pedantic demon lectures. “Just like when you started incorrectly labeling the Saibamen samples.”
“Oh like you know how to tell a Ginnanman and a Jinkouman apart just from the seeds.” the first scoffs.
“Enough.” their leader reprimands. “Focus on the task at hand, we need to check if that missing ship notification was a glitch or not. Eyes and senses open for any potential hostiles.”
“Sir!” the other soldiers respond in unison, shutting up and marching.
Once they’re clear, you all gather back together. “…So they did detect us?” you ask Glorio.
“They detected the ship’s pin, but don’t seem to have actually seen us fly in. We’re in the clear for now, the ship shouldn’t be spotted easily, but we best be extra careful not to alert them.” he replies.
“Let’s keep moving then.” Keli suggests. But as you all do, you hear the sound of sudden, instant movement just a short distance away. The sound of Instant Transmission. You look back, failing to spot who it was, but with a pretty good guess on who it at least might be. She’s here. And she’s shadowing you all.
