This is called strawmanning. The reason people oppose promotion of homosexuality in the classroom is that no gay gene has been discovered yet. The most you can say is that some genetic factors can push people towards homosexuality (the same way being tall makes you more likely to be a basketball player), but no homosexuality inducing gene has been found. And since kids are impressionable, people don't wanna take any chances.

I can change that statement to "I never touched a cigarette in my life and I still got lung cancer" and then throw it right back at you.

Now to ask you a question; why is that LGBT+ classes are always taught in a one sided manner? Why don't they teach kids about how homosexual behavior has been associated with higher rates of STDs, non monogamy, drug abuse, rectal prolapse, rectal cancer, or the fact that a large percentage of homosexuals have been molested (not all, but a significant chunk per capita in comparison to heterosexuals)
