I can only attest to Tribe Nine, they accidentally made a game that was actually hard (when compared to the usual gachaslop). You also couldn't buy power, nor could you skip the grind in any meaningful way. So it was a weird state of only really being a fun game if you had money and could poopsock for hours at a time.
Almost all of the issues got addressed at some point, but the damage was already done since they burned their launch on an admittedly mid gacha game. It should've just been a normal game, I maxed out Tsuruko so I would've bought it.
