>“Oh, that thing about the ship, you must have been talking about Fortuna. I actually released her from imprisonment in Shangri-La. She’s a bit weird, but seemed harmless enough. She actually gave me her blessing if you can believe that.”
“I can, and I cannot adequately express how much your nonchalant attitude towards these sorts of things horrifies me.” Bronte says through gritted teeth. “But you appear to have the gist of it all now. Xenophanes managed to defeat Ernest by unknown means. The story is that he gave his life to do so. In reality, neither Xenophanes nor Ernest left a body behind, so we do not truly know. But neither have been around in over a thousand years. Before he vanished though, he’d already consorted with a human woman. Their descendants became the royal family of Morfis. Over the centuries, many of those new rulers made changes that were perhaps not in line with Xenophanes’ original vision. Certain kings took it upon themselves to make distinctions between those who could use magic and those who couldn’t, and soon a magocracy was born. It’s all led to where we are now.”
>“And where is that?”
Bronte looks you dead in the eye. “If we don’t play our cards right, the end of Morfis, and perhaps the entire world as we know it.”
>“Where’d you even hear all this shit?”
“From Princess Yulia herself.” Bronte says. “Much of this information has been passed through the royal family for generations.”
>“And you just believe it?”
“I do.” She says determinedly. “The question is, do you believe me?”
>A): I believe you.
>B): This is all…a bit hard to take in.
>C): I think you sound crazy.
>D): Look, I just came here to win a Princess…
>E): Write-in
