What does the Red Party think about Russia's war against Ukraine?

The Red Party strongly condemns Russia's grossly unlawful attack on Ukraine. The Putin regime refers to the invasion as a special military operation with what they call "peacekeeping forces". We have heard such propaganda before and are not fooled: Russia's invasion is a war of aggression in violation of international law, nothing else. The Red Party supports those who are now defending themselves against Putin's soldiers and fighting for their freedom, independence and democracy.

And the responsibility for the war of aggression and bombing lies solely with the Putin regime. There are no arguments, no security interests, spheres of interest or other pretexts that can explain away the war of aggression in violation of international law and the enormous human suffering it causes. This is why Putin must be held accountable, and Rødt has proposed that Norway should support the establishment of a special tribunal to prosecute Putin for the war of aggression, as requested by Ukraine.
