Internet radio and music related streaming services are being filled with "fake bands".

https://english.elpais.com/culture/2025-06-15/fake-bands-and-artificial-songs-are-taking-over-youtube-and-spotify.html

These are all AI generated songs with an artist name that doesnt exist.

For example Artist "Lame Imposer" is not real
The song was catchy but it is complete AI slop nevertheless.

You can figure out AI from the fact that if you use waveform probing software like Adobe Audition there are telltale signs of AI generated "wall of sound" which looks artificial. If it was a real recording from studio with real drums, real guitar and whatnot, there would be no such telltale signs in the spectrum of audio. Not even Autotune, a pitch correction program, which is today used in all songs, generates the "AI stain" seen in waveform.

One of the major problems with this trend is the lack of transparency. María Teresa Llano, an associate professor at the University of Sussex who studies the intersection of creativity, art and AI, emphasizes this aspect: "There's no way for people to know if something is AI or not...." On Spotify Community — a forum for the service's users — a petition is circulating that calls for clear labeling of AI-generated music, as well as an option for users to block these types of songs from appearing on their feeds. In some of these forums, the rejection of AI-generated music is palpable.
