Flash Bomb got one of the coolest explosion effects in the series but from my experience, it's not a very strong weapon against enemies. The weapon is basically a remake of the Drill Bomb from MM4 but it loses the ability to remotely detonate so that it can be fired twice which actually limits more the weapon usage. The Remote Mine from MM&B on other hand brings both aspects from the Crash Bomb and Drill Bomb, can be controlled after fired and has a strong explosion effect that's only second to close range Ice Wall in sheer damage against enemies, even if the explosion doesn't look menacing as Flash Bomb's.
