His invocation of Carl Schmitt COMPLETELY annihilated Mehdi Hasan. He had no response to that, firstly because it's true, and secondly because he didn't invoke Carl Schmitt as justification to his argument, rather as an analytical framework that's used to interpret politics in general. And he was right, because politics is inherently Schmittian and to deny that is a sign of either ignorance or malice.
Mehdi could not acknowledge this fact, and he lost categorically. This highlights a very significant reality:
Liberalism is dead and liberals are playing weekend at Bernie's with its corpse. Politics is in a void state right now. It's true that this based retard could have presented his ideas in a more mature way, but just by presenting new ideas, he wins by default against someone who expresses no ideological curiosity or willingness to change the status quo. Of course, doubling down on shit like Franco and fascism is dumb, you just have to call out the liberal's dishonesty and name-calling.
Unfortunately, there isn't a coherent, compact ideological opposite to liberalism yet, but it struggles to be born, and it will be born in the present void given the strides the conservative current that begun as the "alt-right" has made in the past 10 years. It just needs to mature a bit more.
