This is the brazen bull. They stopped using it because the king and the man who invented it were both killed using the same device. It was sortof a lesson about torture and judgement. The interesting thing about it was that the device near the bulls mouth would convert screams into music. So you could hear a lovely tune while someone was inside it.

Long story short. If you did it to "pedophiles" then there will be no doubt a situation down the line when the wrong people get castrated. Or you create enemies who want to "get you back" in another generation or two.... Its better to treat prisoners well.. There is no need to torture them. And death penalty should exist and it should be applied in a humane way. Just in case you get the death penalty or your children or grandchildren or whatever.
