Excuse me if I’m mistaken but aren’t tariffs traditionally put on imports? A Trump tariff would mean that Chinese companies would be paying more to sell their goods in America. A tariff affecting the products on Chinese shelves would be placed by China, not America.
If China constitutes a larger percentage of imports into America than vice versa, wouldn’t the “trade war” be more detrimental to China?
