Yeah, he mentioned the fact that he needs Marvelous' permission to use the IP got in the way of exploring any spinoff ideas. I always though Shinobu's design was better than her character, but what was given to her in TSA made me more interested in her. The next time we see the series will probably be in 5 years, and that's if there's a next time. And if it does comeback, it would make more sense to make a numbered sequel rather than a spinoff.
