I sorta get where you’re coming from but man I’m really telling ya I remember “upgrading” from the SNES that I had played for a year or so to the N64 which I had Smash 64 and several other classics on. This would have been around the time that the GameCube had been out for several years already. By the time I got a GameCube for Christmas a few years later along with my copy of Melee, I’m pretty sure the Wii was just around the corner. I was always behind a generation or two and it would be just those consoles for years at a time so it certainly feels like I “grew up” with them.
