When PVA glue breaks down, besides water, it releases acetic acid, i.e., what makes vinegar, vinegar. The other chemicals it releases are aromatic hydrocarbons which already come from the combustion of tobacco & the pipe's walls themselves.
How this is somehow an issue to you people is quite confusing to me, not only is the material already being used in the first place, the material itself is even safer than the very thing we're all enjoying.
We might as well be discussing the dangers of when tobacco burns, it release large amounts of dihydrogen monoxide, a chemical that kills over 300,000 people every year.
