Japan is also looking to get away from using the U.S. payment processors Visa and Mastercard and have actually filed lawsuits against them.
I think Visa and Mastercard are going to find themselves in a much worse position moving forward than they thought they would be trying to jump on these moral crusades.

If I was a conspiracy type of guy...I'd say the deliberate point of this was to make people run towards digital currencies....but the effect seems to be the rest of the world just running away from the U.S. payment processors and setting up their own...

At this point that's basically just paying for things in cash. No online retailers of note take crypto and the end of the pipeline for things not involving crypto is either visa or mastercard.
What you want is basically not really viable to be a large enough movement to hurt them.
This isn't just some boycott that can be done by simply not patronizing a store or not buying a product brand.
