The relationships parents have with their children are unlike any other in the world. Remember that in your very young years you were entirely reliant on her for everything, including food. It's a hard habit for a parent to break; the urge to make sure you're getting the food you need. She may not have been conscious that's what she was doing. Doesn't sound like she meant to make you uncomfortable. She likely did it because she would feel anxious otherwise.
