Honestly as long as they don't keep trying to force Outlast moments it could be okay. That was RE7 and RE8's biggest weakness, it was so obsessed with trying to make its big headlining monsters have their social media moments that nothing else about it did. RE8 basically just retreaded RE4 but worse, and then an actual RE4 remake came out so its only enduring legacy is Lady Dimitrescu and she dies in the first act.

A good game in a prominent franchise like RE will speak for itself. Fucking Mr. X is in barely any of the pre-launch RE2 material.
