At about my 200th hour in Morrowind I came to the realization that real life is just like Morrowind.
>you talk to people and get a job, but it's just made up basically
>valuable stuff is lying around all over the place, property is a social construct
>I can practice and improve my own attributes and skills
>value is relative and I can buy cheaply in one place and sell expensive in another
>books contain valuable knowledge that can really make you more effective
That alone is worth the tens of thousands of hours I've put into gaming. I retired at the ripe old age of 32.
Now if I was a dotard or assfaggots player then yeah it would have been wasted effort.
