>Go shopping for textures. Easy, safe, you've got a massive smuggling partition to work with, and you get to work on your own skills.
For the rest of the day, you just lounge in bed, too exhausted to do anything else. You're not even in a mood to indulge in the delicious meat haunches spawned from the Digivice farm, and you eat a nutrient brick for the first time in weeks. You find yourself appreciating how easy it is to consume. Phascomon barely says anything either. He just sits in the Digivice for the rest of the evening,
You wake up in the early hours of the next day. Not that morning looks any different from night. You sit there in your pajamas and examine the smooth pillars and marble columns that make up your apartment. Before Phascomon wakes up, you spend an hour or so idly rearranging the furniture with a control panel.
The reorganizing gives you an idea. You just spent all of yesterday running around in a mall. Maybe you should visit a real one and go shopping. You could just buy items online, but you also want to show Phascomon a bit more of human society. He seemed interested when you last suggested the idea to him, so you bring it up again when he wakes up.
"Huh. I did get to see a bit already, back with Takuda. But we never really did anything I wanted. I guess it couldn't hurt-"
His round ears perk up on the pixel screen.
"It could, actually. What if the bots start hassling you while you're out in public?"
"I guess we'll have to be careful. But I'm not going to live in fear forever, just hiding away from them. Like how Doc has to. I'll think of something if they show up."
That's the spite talking again. You know he's right, but you turn up your nose at the notion of being barred from having a good time outside, just because these damnable servitors are breathing down everyone's necks.
"Well, alright. I'm not gonna talk you out of something fun for me."
He yawns and stretches, then winces hard. You can't make out the extent of his injuries through this pixel screen, but he seems to be in poor shape. Ever since you got closer, he's been putting up less of a front regarding his health. That means a lot of whining whenever he’s recovering.
“You okay? No Digicore damage?”
”Nah, I’d know immediately. A damaged core is pretty terminal. Best case? We end up turning into something like Raremon from the instability.”
While you chat, you walk around the house and prepare your equipment for a day out.
“I’d like to fight him someday. I’m sure you could defeat him now.”
”Yeah. I wouldn’t mind a rematch with Gomamon either. Maybe once the cleanup is over.”
