Gqux was a massive success. You can criticize gqux all you want, but very few gundam shows (or mecha) recieved such a great response. The last anime that inspired such a response from both japanese and western audiences were darling in the franx and gridman.

The model kits are nearly impossible to get in the west, because they sell out almost instantly. My store bought as many police zaku and gqux as they could and sold out in a weekend. Seed, 0080, and wing are barely moving,but gqux is flying off the shelves at rapid speed.

Theres few anime that recieved as much interaction, fan art, and discussion as gqux. Its clear the anime struck a cord with alot of people.

Imagine having two jobber characters, only existing to die, being so well remembered. Any other show, and people would've forgotten. Including the black tri stars, each opponent in clan battle was memorable and had unique action scenes.

As time goes on, gqux will be fondly remembered, and the general audience really enjoyed it. /m/ just hates newtype stories, because they fall more in line with super robot tropes, than real robot. I dont want a season 2, but a spinoff series or movie in the same universe would be nice.
