I wish I could be more help. I can get decently consistent results so long as the prompt is simple and the characters are "strong" enough in terms of recognition that I don't have to use descriptor tags. It's probably those tags that are killing you here.

You might just have to bite the bullet and learn your way around controlnets and/or ipadaptors
