I work at a prison. There is a near zero chance of missing footage like they claim here. All CCTV footage in a prison will run on battery backup power (not including the on-site emergency generators) to provide uninterrupted event capture. We keep that shit for minimum 5 years just in case a lawsuit ever pops up, and any timestamp that was ever flagged as having an incident surrounding it will be preserved forever. Missing footage was deliberately deleted and spliced together after the fact. I'd bet an entire years' salary on that.
