"You'll regret this!" He said.
"Yeah, sure." You doubted you'd see them again. You swung your Mirror Blade one more time, causing them to step back and stumble on each other again.
"RUN FOR IT!" Richie said. They scurried away without much fanfare.
It was pretty light work, all things considered.
With that only two people remained, yourself and the elf girl, in the empty courtyard.
Now, to see what this girl is all about.
Still sitting on the ground, she was now staring at you with widened eyes.
"Wha..." The elf woman notices you are staring back, and her ears being wiggling.
"Hey." You say eloquently.
You offer a hand. She looks at it curiously, blinking a few times before realizing you were extending it for her. With an 'Ah! Sorry!' she grabs hold and you help her up.
"My name is Aila Imryll. But most people call me Ay-lala or Innie. Um, actually, please just call me Aila." The elf girl said, her face flushing from embarrassment. "I'm just a humble forest elf that came here because I got a blessing from the godde- uh, I mean, I'm here to learn knowledge! It's not because I'm secretly a saintess or anything!"
She was such a terrible liar.
"My parents told me that this would be the best place to understand magic. Even though my family isn't rich, and I can be very clumsy, I'm still smart enough to get recommended to a place like this for only a fraction of the gold needed." There was a boldness in her voice that quickly melted away, and she ended up fiddling with her thumbs. "Thank you for saving me... what's your... please tell me your name! And also what was all that??? I've never seen a move that can reflect magic before!" She suddenly began to gush about the small battle, going into the technical side of magic. It wasn't as intricate or comprehensive as the explanations you're used to hearing from Herta, but Imryll had a surprisingly good grasp on the fundamentals. She went a on a bit more about her personal life, revealing, though a bit surprising due to her innocence, that she was in her late forties (apparently she was still considered a young adult, despite the fact that elves could live for centuries if not millenia), and then went to talk about her many, many pets and her button collection.
As continued to talk, you thought that she...
>Seemed nice enough to at the very least try befriending. You introduced yourself and explained your [Mirror Blade] to her, satisfying her curiosity.
>Was alright. You were polite, and introduced yourself, but didn't really say much else as she clearly didn't have many people to talk with.
>Could be a bit annoying. You nodded your head as she continued on, wanting to go back but not really finding the chance. You doubted you'd see her again unless you went out of your way.
>(Write-in)
The conversation you had with her, however, was cut short when guards arrived. With them an important looking woman closely followed, not saying a word but quietly looking around.
