* assistant to matsuno for ivalice and bozja, matsuno's writing strength is not in characters which is where both suffer, has to ignore hiroi was an assistant and not a main writer
* pandaemonium, which was really good, one of the game's best cliffhanger moments after second tier and a good payoff
* post-6.0 patch story, which was only bad in light of being stretched out over five patches and should have been constrained to 6.1 through 6.3, but the trial series got bundled into it too so it couldn't be shorter
* a bunch of sidequests that, similarly, the rabid hate cultists can't or won't point to because they're not notable
