The book of Revelation is about Rome destroying the Temple in apostate Jerusalem, the scattering of the Jews, the persecution of the Christians, and the ultimate Triumph of Christ's Church over the Beast, Rome. This is what EVERY Christian in history believed up until the 17th century when Protestant heretics began to peddle this schizo shit and it didn't really get traction until the 19th and 20th century.
