Hermione claps twice, and the uglies stand up straight. “Girls. I have a bit of family business to attend to, first. It’ll only take a few minutes. In the meanwhile, you may observe the inscriptions on your spoons.”

As she enters the family storefront, she hears a scream from behind her. “24 KARAT??!”

She walks confidently toward the front desk, as the receptionist boredly looks up at her. The man repeats his canned lines, “How can I help you today? You seem young.”

“I, Hermione Rockefeller, demand to see the blueprints for this mall!”

The man gives her a look. “…Alright, I don’t think-” The manager rushes out from the door behind him, whispering in his ear, before running back into the office to resume his meeting. The receptionist’s expression instantly changes. “Right this way, ma’am!”

As they walk to the storage room in the back, Hermione probes the man. “Worker. Has there ever been any stores in this mall themed around detectives?”

He nervously glances at her, quite aware of how close he is to losing his job. “Sorry, ma’am, but I just started, I’m not really sure. I can put in a word with upper management if you want!”

Hermione narrows her eyes. “…No, that’s quite alright.” She looks at his nametag. “Albert.”

The man starts walking faster.

As Hermione thoroughly scans the blueprints, she can’t find it. That [REDACTED]… it’s nowhere to be found. She blinks. Odd. Well… whatever. It doesn’t matter anyway.

As she leaves the store, her groupies surround her. “How was it, Hermione?! Did you get another allowance?”

She raises a hand, and they immediately shut up. “At ease. The business was conducted satisfactorily. Now, it is time to shop. For clothing, specifically.”

The girls’ eyes sparkle.
