I haven't looked into f-kare is/was it a live service or gacha game? I didn't know it received updates of any kind.

I can see why you feel the game's future maybe uncertain and to be blunt any gacha or live service game could announce it's End of Service at any point for one reason or another. I don't know how much the game makes I've heard there have been games that barely turn a profit but kept their service or a long time and still might to this day. Besides Housamo probably makes enough for Lifewonders to be alright financially. Plus I haven't noticed a drop in quality they've been testing out new stuff in some events so they aren't seemingly phoning it in. But saving can be brutal especially if you have multiple favorites. Hell I only summoned twice last year for Obsidius and Pubraseer alts. I had to spark both of them I got Gaisei three times trying for Pubraseer while I didn't get any 5star characters when summoning for Obsidius (Seriously what are the odds!). That's why I don't feel safe unless I have two sparks saved or at least 1700 Ether Stone equivalent due to that and having to save for 8 to 10 months for a spark otherwise. But anyway maybe take a small break from the game or just do the bare minimum so you can save Ether Stones and Tickets.

I don't know anything about the Main Story since I'm waiting on the translation but maybe they are trying to future proof the story so they don't pull a World Flipper. But I also think they wanted to have two summer events but also a more proper anniversary event so they made The Glorious Rising Moon anni event instead of a summer event
