SocDems are not Leftists, they are the left-wing of Liberalism. When you go from "reforming Capitalism to be slightly-less-discriminatory in its baby murder factories" to "we actually have to burn it all down and start from scratch" you've hit the actual Left, the Left of Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Mandela, and all the great leaders of the 20th century.
