It's a tossup between a lot of people here being outrageously autistic myself included, /vg/'s isolating nature causing people to start talking about things OUTSIDE of the game and that reverberating in on itself and festering into something much more heavy, and Undertale/Deltarune being the type of games people get very attached to and feel very personal + emotional towards. It's just a VERY emotionally-driven environment as a whole.
Also probably stuff to do with comorbidity with Tumblr and the like and people being used to blogposting to the extent they just don't have filters and will just spill the beans on their life stories.
