And you've always been cancer, yes.
Now go post about Naruto or some inane endless soap opera for teenagers.

It's people under the delusion that anime is something underground and that they liked something niche and unique, and not the biggest media export outside of hollywood and arguably British TV.
These people don't actually watch anime of course. They saw a couple when they were a kid, watch a few youtube videos, but they view it more as an aesthetic, and so, when they got hopped up on delusions of grandeur and the idea of gatekeeping, they view anime's continual popularity as a big DANGER they can STOP and be PRAISED for (or at least look cool for liking something so niche, amirite?).
Reality is, anime has been normalfag since what, 2002? I'd honestly say 1998 when the biggest event for children across the entirety of America was CN finally airing new episodes of a Japanese cartoon, all while some of the biggest non-corporate pages on the internet were anime ones and the biggest forums all had dedicated anime subforums that rivaled main page activity.
Hell, the idea of "defending anime's integrity" itself is fairly normalfag. There was a fucking TV spot back in the 80s about Macross fans who hated Robotech, this thread is a bunch of underage posers basking in the afterglow of relevancy.
