It’s also worth noting that the head of the mainline MH games is the son of Capcom’s CEO. He’s had one of the fastest promotions in the company’s history, despite clearly lacking the experience to match the quality of other Capcom teams. But hey, I’m sure nepotism played no role whatsoever. A lot of Japanese posts have been calling this out, which prompted the official statement above.
