Jesus commanded us clearly: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31) — and He didn’t put conditions on that love. Love doesn’t mean agreeing with every choice someone makes; it means treating them with dignity, compassion, and respect because they are made in the image of God.

That love includes sharing truth as we understand it from Scripture, but it never gives us license to hate, judge harshly, or exclude. “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) — and that includes all of us.

So yes, I love my gay neighbor because Christ first loved me.
