Over time I've grown to apprieciate him even more. As a kid, I couldn't really appreciate its defensive signature move, for example. But I've always cherished him; you tend to grow closer with things that are unpopular.
Ironically enough, my Chespin from 2013 was a female, haha. I'd try to get a screenshot, but I've been stuck for some good 20 minutes trying to get the cartridge working; it's probably incredibly fried, considering its age.
